Washington lawyer Dan Wilmot discusses what you should do if a lien is put on your property. What exactly is a lien anyways?
A lien is basically a bill placed on your property. It means that the property owner is liable for some type of damages and money due to the person who put a lien on the property. This is commonly done by a contractor who may not have gotten paid for labor, materials, or supplies during a project at the home. A lien can be retracted if it is shown that the costs are not due. It is the responsibility of the person who placed the lien to prove that they were not paid. If they are unable to do so, the lien can be removed from the property. Watch the video now to learn more.
